Have all your camera gear ready. Have all the videotape, film, memory sticks, and batteries charged so you won’t miss any of those photo moments. Santa would like to get at least one photo with someone in the party, If You would e-mail to me for the web site Gallery. Please check to see if it is ok to have the picture displayed on this site. I never post names
If Santa is seeing children I recommend before the party, e-mail me some personal information that only you, the child, and Santa would know about. A major event that the child is proud of or that has recently happened example: Good Grades, Making the goal or making the team, playing well with brother or sister or even helping Mom or Dad around the house.
Make sure Santa has a cell phone number or numbers for the party just in case of emergencies.
Make Sure Santa gets clear directions to the party location and availability to the parking areas near by. Santa generally walks in from a discreet location like the end of the street, in an alley, a fence or building that blocks the view of my arrival and departure, or even a street a block away.
I can arrange to pick up gifts outside your home, or meet prior to the visit. Have your gifts ready. I can carry in one bag of presents for children or guests. They should be well labeled. I suggest a large black marking pen and printing directly on the gift, as tags can easily fall off. Remember to use a different wrapping paper Then what you are using at home. If you have more than one bag, have "helper's" bring the extra gifts as the bag gets empty.
Get everyone together, before Santa enters. Timing is everything, if everyone is scattered around the house or office, you loose valuable time. I am usually very prompt and will call you if I am going to be more than five minutes late. If Santa is to bring in presents, the person meeting him can help fill Santa's bag. Then, at the right moment, Santa can pop in and join everyone. If you have a large group of children to see Santa, you should assign someone to be Santa's helper and coordinate the order of children as they each visit Santa.
A large sturdy chair without arms is best for Santa to sit in. Folding chairs and low chairs (the one's you sink into) are not good. Santa usually likes a chair that is sturdy and stable. A good straight-back dining chair works well. Santa likes to sit-up or on the edge of the chair.
Set the chair in a festive setting, usually near your Christmas tree or other holiday setting. Think of the area as if you were in a photo studio and arranged your 'props' and 'backdrops'. Place a wreath, a few Christmas cards or your children's drawings on the wall to make a wonderful difference. Even some cookies and milk make great props. Leave room for others to gather around and behind Santa's chair for group photos.
Think about photos with everyone. Yes, some teenagers will shy away or think it is too childish to have a photo with Santa. Don't worry; Santa can stand up for a "buddy" photo. What about grandma and grandpa? Take a photo with Santa and Grandma Hugging. And, nothing is more fun than having Santa ask Grandpa if he's been a good boy!
If there is a balance or payment due to Santa, place it inside a Christmas card or envelope. It never looks appropriate when someone is seen paying Santa. So, as Santa is departing, hand him the envelope and say, "Thank you Santa and here is a Christmas card from all of us." And yes, Santa accepts tips.
